Do you feel overwhelmed with writing blog content? Then it’s time to start repurposing content into new mediums that will grab your audience in other ways.
Repurposed content is one of the best online marketing strategies and can save you lots of time. The best content marketing is not necessarily writing blog posts day after day.
Indeed, a huge part of Internet marketing means getting the content you have already created in front of more people.
You can do that by repurposing content into other formats or just refreshing the original content.
By now, if you have a blog, you already know how time consuming it is to create new content over and over. Give yourself a break and think about how to repurpose your blog posts in new and exciting mediums.
Strategies for Repurposing Content on the Internet
When I started content repurposing I gained more traffic overall and extended my reach to a broader audience. Why did that happen?
By now, you probably realize that not everyone wants to read blog posts. Some people prefer to watch a video or download a PDF document for later. Maybe they want to see a presentation.
After I expanded my audience through repurposing content, my income increased too!
Video – 4 Ways to Repurpose Content on the Internet
Here are some simple tips for you to start repurposing your content:
- Summary posts – Do you have a few great blog posts that fit nicely into a particular category? These are great to create a new summary post. Start with an enticing opener and provide a teaser from each post that you want to include in your roundup. Be sure to include a link to each individual post. Now your readers can not only gain value from that post, but they will drill down to past blog post.
- Make a YouTube Video – One of my favorite ways to repurpose content is to create a YouTube video. This is simple because the content is already created! Now you can make a video based on the content and just add a few things to make it a little more exciting. Keep the video nice, short, and to the point for the best results. You can place a link to your blog in the video description to keep viewers aware of your hub on the Internet. Just think, for every blog post, you can create a video and get your great content out to even more people. You can even jazz up your existing blog posts by embedding the video.
- Modify old content – Do you have content that is a over 4 years old? Give it new life by repurposing content. Update the content and then republish it on the current date!
- Create an ebook – We all love giveaways! Gather up some of your best blog posts and create an ebook. You’ll have to modify some of the content and be sure it all makes sense. But I am sure you have some brilliant posts that would make a great ebook to giveaway to your readers.
How do you repurpose content? Do you have a strategy to do so? The benefits of repurposed content are too good to pass up.
I take all my content and turn it into Kindle books. I also repurpose my content with videos. Doing top lists and summary posts helps a lot too. I’ve never had an issue coming up with content, but using your content in several different formats is one of the best things you can do. Just my two cents. Great post, Lisa.
One of my favorite things to do is to take old content and turn it into Kindle books to sell. This is great for an extra income stream. You can also take your old posts and create an audio CD that you can sell to people. Your idea with YouTube videos works great too. Think outside the box and one piece of content can be used at least five different ways. Great post here!
Thanks for the great tip Chuck! So glad you stopped by.

Great post Lisa. Repurposing your original content is something I have done a little of. You are so right to visit old blog posts and revamp them a little, republishing them on todays date.
Thanks for sharing
You are welcome Lynda! It’s a very powerful, yet underutilized strategy. I actually left out another important tip. After you create a video, take the audio from the video and create a podcast!
Imagine all the ways you can extend your audience.
Thanks for stopping by!
